I am about to transfer around 100k from overseas into my account here, is there any gotchas i should be aware of? like tax or fees? what do you guys normally do when transferring large amount of money? do you use bank or any other service to do it?
I would phone up the transmitting bank and the receiving bank and talk it through with both of them especially if there is a currency exchange component.
Do it through the banks. Only criminals, Iranians and Nigerians move those sorts of sums through Western Union.
yeah good idea, didnt think of asking the bank first actually, although i was hoping there are other ways of doing it without using bank (better rate and fees)
