does anyone know firstly if you can be a trustee in two separate trusts such as hydrid and family , secondly can you live in one of your own trust property and pay the rent into the trust?

A person (or a company) can be a trustee of more than one trust. It's not often done though - generally people want to keep things separate and simple. If you did it, you should ensure that whenever that person or company signs documents or enters transactions, it specifies clearly the capacity in which it is acting (i.e. trustee of trust #1 or trustee of trust #2).
