Hi,
I'm desperate for some quick advice here. I'm due to settle on a property tomorrow and have gone through some expense with the idea that settlement will be tomorrow (taken day off work, booked various things). At 10 to 5 this afternoon I got a call from my conveyancers saying that settlement was being delayed because the vendors hadn't removed the furniture from the property.
It is a deceased estate and the solicitors involved want to auction off the furniture (honestly, I'd be surprised if they get more than $100 for all of it). So far I've offered to store the furniture, move it for them to a different location, buy it from them (for $200). None of this has had any impact on them.
Is there any recourse for me because the vendors were not organised?
