It's a sad story IMO but people should have known better.
They paid too much and the +15% returns were not going to last forever.
I drove past Collinsville QLD (a coal mining town) 6 months or so ago.
A previously buzzing town, now seems like a ghost town.
Only the workers club was still open and most shops were closed.
You do realise for that to happen in Sydney, our economy would have collapsed with millions out of work, life savings wiped out, and general disaster for our population

If you are wanting to purchase in Sydney and can't afford it (yet?), why not invest in another, cheaper, area first? Otherwise, you may be 'waiting' forever...
