Wanted: Suggestions for Day Trips or Overnights from Paris, France.

Ok so far we have booked or agreed:

A Museum Pass to see all the Museums ( Rodin, D'Orsay, Carnavalet) we didn't see last time because of Daughter.

A 2CV Tour and Dinner: travel Paris at night, romantic evening with dinner following at Bistro

Looking at Moulin Rouge.

For others looking things we did last time:

City Free Tour: yes free walking tour with guide who knows all the ins and outs of the area. You pay what you think it is worth. 5 stars on TripAdvisor.

Paris Pass is multi pass that gets entry to many attractions and tours like the Buses etc... But be warned you need a lot of time and must be organized to see them all and IMO no children, See above museum comment....

I did not like, but wife did like, Versailles.

And Eiffel Tower is a must but BOOK AHEAD or spend half a day in line.

More to come, Peter 14.7

Thanks for those last couple of links Peter, the cooking class sounds perfect for my GF and that 2CV tour sounds tops!!

We're off to France next week, flying into Basel in Switzerland and spending a few days around the Alsace region before heading into Paris for 4 nights. Then we've got a few days free where I think we'll make our way through Provence to the Cote D'Azure area and across to Pamplona via Andorra for the Running of the Bulls. I really should start planning that leg of the trip I guess!

Hey Icarus

What a holiday you have planned!

I strongly recommend the City Tour.

It was highlight and cost nothing although we paid him $30 I think.

We did the Montmartre tour and meet Chris at Moulin Rouge. We then wound our way around the back lanes of this district seeing things like another Windmill, famous buildings, mini-parks, sculptures and even included a toilet spot.

Takes 2hrs which is good exercise to offset the massive eating you will do!

Includes the the Amelie Cafe ( very good food ) and then we ended at stunning city views at Sacre Coer Church which in my opinion is much better than Notre Dame. Real Nuns praying and Wedding about to begin. Sadly Notre Dame is crowded and like being in Disneyland, herded along although that is fault of rude and too many pig tourists talking pic inside the Church when told not to.

FYI Peter
