Just bought a development site in Sydney!

Longer than I'd like is the short answer! Anywhere from 6 to 12 months is what I'm expecting. One developer I spoke to on the weekend suggested a 12 month build timeframe which seemed too long to me.

Wow,

Although I regulalry read this forum this thread has to be the most intersting I have ever read. I think the level of effort that MichaelWhyte along with many others have made is very comendable.

Although I can't add value to this conversation I felt compelled to put this note. I have been thinking about doing a duplex for some time now in the Sutherland Shire and to hear how much is involved in the development process (before the building even starts) is incredible.

I look forward to keeping up to date with it all and wish Mike the best of luck.

I'll keep posting in that linked thread from now on to avoid any confusion with different threads. You'll note if you read through that thread that it doesn't get any easier either. I'm still fighting to get my DA through council, but with the land and environment court involved now it looks like December will get a definitive decision one way or the other.
