You can contact OSR and seek waiver of the requirement, worth a try but don't expect to get one (just speaking from experience here), or you could not say anything and hope they don't find out, but I wouldn't count on that either....

I don't think this applies if the tenants are on a fixed term lease? If they are on periodic however you can give them notice to move out.

I have no issue with it given rates have to go unpaid for many years before council can put up for auction, if there were no repercussions I wouldn't pay my rates either! ;)

A couple of months back there was an unpaid rates auction in the Blue Mountains and a few weeks after one in Port Stephens - I popped in to the BM one but by the auction day any of the good lots (IMO) had their rates paid and were taken off the sales list, it was my first auction of this type...
