Valuation post granny flat - Newcastle

I too have a property in Cardiff and have seriously considered a gf. Cashflow will be good, but I have been advised that if I was to reval that I could only see about 70-80cents in the $1. Sorry I don't have an answer for you but hope this helps. For the moment I have put the gf on hold until I...

Brisbane North - Purchase and Renovation

[ A bit of background, after years of having two heavily negatively geared properties in Sydney we stumbled upon a magazine article in early 2012 on the cash flow benefits of granny flats. We then quickly moved to make both properties dual occupancy and they are now both close to neutrally...

    working out cgt liability

Can somebody give me some help with working out what amount would be subject to cgt. I have a property purchased in 1996 for $155k that I am now thinking of selling. Property was an IP until 1999 when I moved in for about 18 months. In late 2000, I moved out, and property became an IP again...

    Reno 3 bed home for $15000 - $20000?

Hi coastal, I think it is possible to do it under $20k. The key is to find a carpenter/builder who will co-ordinate it all or most of it, and basically use his own trades. That way he is aware of the tradespersons commitments and the tradies are used to working together. I renovated a house...

    Melbourne market-your thoughts

Hi JacM, The 1st property, purchased 16yrs ago, wasn't purchased with a purpose in mind. In the time of ownership, it has gone up from $155k to $600k. It was originally our home, then we upgraded and kept it as an investment. It has served us well in that, we have been able to access equity to...

As Terry said, I would seek legal advise asap!!! and definitely make every effort to go to the meeting. If I understand your set up properly, you sound like in all honestly, you shouldn't even 'belong' to this. ...I wonder if somehow, you can legally separate yourself, get your own title and...
