1BDR VS 2BDR Apartments in the same block

just got a quick question which is probably easy for those in the know...
I was looking at some apartments in the same building,


it was something like $300k for 1bdr, and $600k for 2bdr...

maybe this is the industry norm but

since you are sharing amenities etc. etc. etc. etc.

wouldnt you get a discount on the 2nd room, ie it should be less then $600k for a 2bdr.....

so if you had $600k to spend, wouldn't it better to get 2 x 1bdr places,

in this case you get 2 sets of amenities and probably more area as a 2 bdr won't be double the size of a 1bdr....

this I found to be a bit interesting..
 
There are a lot of other factors to consider - for example the 2 bedrooms may have a view and the 1 bedrooms do not.

But yes - I think your analysis is correct.
