Accountant Recommendation

Hi, Can anyone help me please. I'am looking for an Accountant to do my tax in Southern Tassie area that specialise in Residential property investments and family Trusts.
cheers Shane

I'm using Michael Armstrong at the firm House of Wealth who is highly regared and I personally find to be very good. His contact details are

Michael Armstrong
P : 03 9999 7703
W : www.houseofwealth.com.au

Does not matter if he is in Melbourne and you are in Tassie. I'm not even in Australia and have no difficulty using him.

Both are great options above.

No need to restrict yourself to local professionals unless you take comfort in face to face contact.

Cheers

Jamie

Interesting comments about how good some of these accountants are, my past experience was how could someone not see that I was entitled to a $5k refund ( pointed the error out before I signed the papers and sure enough had I not done so, but relied on his reputation as being thorough , I would have been $5k poorer - and his fee was quite expensive to boot.

Never had the chance for face to face but he took offence at me querying another entity's tax return, not understanding that I was concerned there may have been another omission. He believed his wealth of experience negated any need for any queries, even after the $5k error. (How he can be in business amazes me as his client skills were quite poor - eating an apple while talking to me.)

Just found out today that a reasonable tax refund from over 4 years ago had landed in my entity's bank account because it had become "stale" after being sent to a post box purportedly addressed to his business. How can that be good for business if he keeps changing his contact information / addresses ( filts from one state to another, and one suburb to another in the same state) . Also original records of mine had been mislaid and never returned). He really does need to keep his house in order if this is happening.

Anyways that my experience, do your research and get personal referrals if you have anything beyond the straightforward returns.

I had a similar experience with the same accountant.

My recommendation is Paul Gerrard at Price Financial. His email is: [email protected].

sbriffa, let him know you're a Somersoft member, you'll get a discount!

Thanks for the kind words. On holidays but back Monday... Free quote. Fixed fee and first hour free consult should all assist a good choice

Thankyou

Been a while since on this forum. Been busy doing long hours with work but thankyou for the response, I will be going with Paul as my Accountant.
Love this forum - like minded people :)

And I also believe we re refering to the same one, which I would avoid

I can also recommend that Michael (HOW) or Nick (SWM) are very good tax guys. I was an adviser to tax & legal professionals at Macquarie Group Services for a time and regularly supported their technical advice and both have solid skills.

thanks Paul.

I understand you run a business and cater for different ppl and circumstances and therefore the cost will vary.

however, iam after ppl like myself , mum and dad investor requiring an accountant but dont know the fees.
