All in an Agent's work

From the local (Queanbeyan) Raine and Horne newsletter (I'll give them the plug for the story). (Captain's Flat is in the country out of queanbeyan, near ACT).

ALL IN AN (AGENT'S) AFTERNOON'S WORK

A local agent took 2 potential purchasers (who followed in their own cars) out to see a property on the edge of Captains Flat. One of the purchasers parked his 4-wheel drive car under the beautiful gum trees at the front of the house, and told the agent he was suitability impressed with the external appearance of the property

That was until they all heard a huge crack and a massive branch fell on the purchaser's car. They rushed over to see the damage and were unceremoniously attacked by a dizzy hive of wasps.

The purchasers then took shelter in the home while the ever helpful agent borrowed the vendor's chainsaw from the shed to cut the branch off the car. He promptly got the saw stuck in the branch. The SES could have been called had the fall not taken the phone lines out too. No coverage for mobiles either around Captains Flat.

The still ever helpful agent then tried to get his own car out past the damaged purchaser's car to go and seek assistance, but having almost killed the vendor's gardens trying to unsuccessfully negotiate out the narrow driveway past the car, he decided to walk into town for help.

Meanwhile, one of the purchasers leaned through his crushed car window to retrieve his wallet etc, only to be set upon by seemingly millions of ants who had taken exception to just having been violently disturbed from their nest in the tree. He did a mad dance while taking his jacket and shirt off, whilst his wife was also dancing wildly trying to brush the ants off her hubby.

At this point, the vendor arrived back from town and stopped when she saw her agent power walking down the driveway. After explaining to her what had happened, the agent gladly accepted her offer of a lift back to the house.

The highlight of the agent's day was to see his vendor's face as she surveyed the scene of crushed car, chainsaw protruding from branch, and the dancing people.

The worst part of the day ....

keeping a straight face!

(This is a true story as recounted by the prospective purchaser to the agent from this office. The identity of the agent has been protected!)
