Braybrook, Melb

Inner western suburbs have had its ups, especially when the market as a whole was up.

But in times like this where only segments of the market are booming, I don't see inner west moving much.

Places like Braybrook and Footscray not only have not gentrified, it has actually gone backwards in some respects. The demographics are getting worse and worse and the commercial areas are becoming seedier, unlike suburbs like North Melbourne, Fitzroy and Brunswick East. When I drive down Footscray etc on Sat/Sun to check out what's happening to see if it's worth investing (no I don't invest there), I actually fear for my life and the safety of my car more than I did 15 years ago. When I drive down the likes of Nth Melb and Fitzroy, I see young professionals sipping lattes with pedicured golden retrievers. That's true gentrification.

As for outer west, blehhhhhh.
