Brisbane northsiders - Airport Link Tunnel

The winning tenderers for Airport Link were announced this yesterday - Theiss and John Holland and Macquarie Group. So its almost certainly going ahead.

Basically it hooks into the North South Bypass tunnel and extends it out into Nundah.

Airport Link is a proposal to:

improve transport sustainability in Brisbane’s inner northern suburbs
enhance livability in our communities
enhance the environment
support economic development
provide an affordable solution to our traffic problems.
This will be achieved by constructing a mainly underground toll road to connect the North-South Bypass Tunnel, Inner City Bypass and local road network at Bowen Hills to the northern arterials of Gympie Road and Stafford Road at Kedron and Sandgate Road and the East-West Arterial in the city's north east.

It doesnt really affect my area but I would expect property prices that are really close to onramps / offramps to lose value due to increased noise and properties that are somewhat (but not too close) to gain in value due to better road access.

Thank you! Hadn't seen this, but we bought in Kedron (Boothby St) around Christmas, so very happy to see this.
