Any insurance experts out there,
This is about a question about business insurance of a small business
basically got flooded back in Feb
they gave me a pretty poor payout figure, 10% of claimed value
been to the omdbudsman, mediation,
they've come back with 20% of claimed value,
Basically, their reason was, the 20% they had a value on, and the rest of the damaged items they didn't know the value ,
so I sent them invoices of what I paid for them and said, pay me 50% of my claim, and Ill close the case,
their response is,
"show us the recipets for REPLACING the items, you must have had a financial loss and you cannot profit from the claim"
I recently provided them reciepts for almost all items of purchase however, just today. they are now claiming that I MUST show proof of replacing them,
Was under the impression that items dont need to be replaced, and that I have suffered a financial loss from them regardless of whether I replace them or not
for the record, the key items are furniture which I decided didnt need to be replaced after disposal.
is the insurnace company just playing games?
