Can anyone recommend a good property lawyer?

I am based in Sydney, I have a great accountant and a good relationship with people of various trades. The thing I am lacking is a good reliable lawyer specialising in property.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there
if you don't get a recommendation from the forum - why not try the law society - and get a recommendation of someone who is an accredited specialist in property
thanks

That's a good idea Raddles, I'll give it a shot and add the recommendations to the thread.

Not sure how much of what you need she does, but of all the solicitors and conveyances i have experienced as an agent she FAR FAR better than any other. Efficent, accurate and friendly!

same thing try the law institute
not quite sure where you are but did work with a property lawyer called John Turnbull at Mount Waverley - who also was a property investor and an accredited specialist in property
thanks

Definitely call a lawyer called Steve at Heidtman & Co Lawyers in Sydney (02 9267 3388). He is contactable 24-7, experienced in property, finance and banking work, and he delivers results, quickly. Steve is great - I've used plenty of lawyers, and I wouldn't use anyone else.

Great experience...

Hi,

We used Lawyers Conveyancing. They advised us during the negotiation phase as well as the conveyancing phase.

They were absolutely fantastic. I can not recommend them enough. We were able to buy our first house with confidence. The vendor used Ian Reid Vendor Advocacy and there were some "unfair" clauses that they tried to push us into (see http://www.relv.com.au/news/045_gazumped.asp).

In fact, it was thanks to Ian that we found Lawyers Conveyancing. Basically I did a Google search for Ian Reid … and I found a lawyer knew all their tricks

They were well priced, prompt with advice, organised and professional. See
http://www.lawyersconveyancing.com.au/

They even had the whole Conveyancing process managed through a web site.

Cheers

I have to say that this was one of the best recommendations I have ever received. I have bought and sold a number of properties using Skye's services since I started this thread and she is exactly as described plus knowledgeable, articulate, on your side and extremely thorough.

Nothing is too much of a problem and I could not recommend Skye highly enough!

If you need a good property lawyer in Sydney Skye should be the first person you call www.freshwaterlegal.com

Thanks for the recommendation! Pity freshwater is a bit out of the way. Did you ever have to travel to see her?

With all my solicitors in Sydney I've had to stop by the office to sign contracts / drop off cheques / etc etc.

How much does she charge? Both times I've paid over $2k for a Sydney solicitor!

I second that Savanna, Tony Cordato is the guru when it comes to anything vendor finance, www.vendorfinancelawyer.com.au , part of his difference is he walks the talk, and you can tell because his contracts cover many possible future scenarios rather than leaving things open.
