Canberra Investors- Christmas function

Hasn’t the year flown? Yes, it is that time of year already...

Canberra Investor Group is having their annual Christmas function

When: Saturday 27th November, 7pm

Where: Windows on the Park, Casino Canberra (21 Binara Street City)

Cost: $25 p/person

RSVP’s by COB next Tuesday the 23rd November (today week)- email only please- to [email protected]

Windows on the Park is not a BYO restaurant, but we are assured that they have an extensive wine list for those who wish to partake in a little Christmas cheer on the evening.

Also email [email protected] if you can't make this function, but would like to be notified of functions next year.

-Geoff on behalf if the CIG Committee (yes, we are cross fertilising our DNA- more on that at the dinner)

Jerry,

We'll be talking to the restaurant next Tueday to confirm numbers, I'm sure they will be able to accomodate you.

I'm at the resataurant this Friday night, so may be able to ask for you.

BTW Jerry your old email addy is dead? You want to fwd me your new one?

Cheers

For all who came, it was an excellent night. Thanks for the company- it's always good to talk with people who are getting places.

However, I think we may have to introduce a surcharge for dinners next year. It's a pity, but it's not been the first time that Ed and myself have been left having to pay out of our own pockets. This time it was for members who definitely said that they would come before we made the firm booking (we were four short, but one extra); at a previous dinner, somebody left before paying.

We don't make money out of organising events- it takes time and effort (mostly Ed's)- and to be having to pay for others is not completely fair.

My apologies to the majority who will be asked to contribute a little more in future.

I can understand that, its a pity there is no efficient way to pre-pay prior to booking so that those that don't turn up have allready paid their share anyway.

Thanks qaz for making the big effort to change your shift around and come in- it was appreciated.

I like to come to these events, I allways learn something.

At the BBQ I found out about Contracts for Difference
At the Peter Spann SIG talk, I found out about Landbanking
At the Cashflow game in Weston, I found out about Stuart Petroleum
On Saturday night, Ed taught me that 40% of income devided by 7 times 100 is a quick way to work out your borrowing capacity (servicability wise).
