carports require planning approval in QLD?

Hi,

I am renovating my IP in Brisi and I am considering building a makeshift Carport at the side of the house, I am planning to get for posts and just putting and shade sale on it. I have checked online and it states carports require planning approval. This cannot be for a cheap little carport? The driveway will just have doe gravel on it.

Hey Darryl. If I send you details of a property, are you able to say if a new slab and basic roof cover would be self-assessable? Does it make a difference if it is DCP overlay area? We had a concreter look at it and he suggested we get some sort of approval, and I cannot remember if it was because we wanted to put it on the front and side boundary?

Same concrete chap didn't ask for any approvals for another job he did for us, so I'm not sure why he hesitated with this second one?

I just put in a new double carport in BCC and it requires certification.

Was replacing a single one that was probably not approved.
