Current VCAT waiting periods???

Does anyone know or have an idea on what the current waiting times are now at VCAT to get a hearing date?

I heard from a reliable source (supposedly) that the current waiting period is around 10 months

With expenses piling up, waiting 10 months for VCAT to can your development or push it through to the next stage would be a nightmare.

According to the planner I spoke with last Monday, the waiting period is 5 months.

For an interesting (and frustrating) experience, I might give them a call Monday and see what they say.

WOW that is shocking, last year in Perth it only took a few weeks and we can do it online and get the date.

I can confirm that!

Yep. 5 months.

Submitted VCAT application in October 2012 and have a hearing date in March 2013. I am happy. The original waiting period was 8-10 months.

Just called VCAT which was a surprisingly painless experience.

The waiting time at the moment for a full hearing is 8 to 10 months

They have used up most of their funding provided by the government for this financial year. Therefore they are putting priority over cases they deem most important.
