Deposit assistance with finance provider

Just read an article from Bill Zheng where he talks about finance providers offering deposit assistance in exchange for profit sharing.

Anyone heard of this?
Who is offering it & on what basis/cost?

Its certainly innovative - a JV with a finance provider - a silent partner really. Certainly appeals to me as I dont like JV with active partners & taking on the responsibility of the partners money/prospects. A business model has possibilities.
But having said that, I agree with Bill in that if these products become more main stream (even slip stream), prices of RE will rise. FHBG is an excellent example of this. At least with finance providers they are more subject to market forces as oppossed too electoral forces. Could it create a bubble ie as per the sub-prime market?

EFM... dog with fleas!

40% of upside given away for their 20% stake... sounds like winning lotto. no wonder they have only sold a few.
