Is a DS tax deductible or a property cost taken into account for CGT?

Yes, tax deductible

It is tax deductible (check the ATO website).

I had to point this out to our accountant as he wasn't planning to allow it. Oh for a switched-on property-savvy accountant!

Pay for the QS from OPM and the interest is also tax deductible.
