Does adding data link add value to property?

Does adding data link add value to property?

I am thinking to add a RJ45 link to each bedroom & living, linked back to a central location with phone point. Quote is about $500

However, with NBN comes in later, I am not entirely sure of its requirement and whether this will make above obsolete. Does NBN need a new connector?

Please let me know your opinion.

Thanks

dsl uses cat5 rj45 cabling from the modem/router to the endpoints,
as does the NBN optical fibre and the, now being re-used, telstra copper
cat6 or optical will not be required, (till computers update the sockets on the motherboards) for years, long after either has been replaced by something newer

go for installation,

this link is the installation requirements for NBN, pretty closely matches the described 'central location' with phone line,
get a conduit and cord at the same time. 30mm is better than 23mm
edit:: easier to pull, less damage to cable, room for 2 cables, same price. Always ensure that installers pull a cord when they pull their cable with the existing cord ::/edit

From prior installations, easy place in a single storey dwelling is the closet near the front door,
I have my routers and switchgear in the basement, below the front door, Aussie houses dont have much in the way of basements
