My uncle in the UK is sending me a bank cheque for 10,000 in GBP. The exchange rates offered by the ANZ compared to forex companies is consideringly lower.
Unfortunately they won't deal with cheques.
Does anyone know where I can do better than my bank with this cheque?
Can your uncle not wire you the money? From one bank account to yours. You could watch the money market and tell him when to press go when it lifts a bit. Just a suggestion....
If he can wire you, then try www.tranzfers.com - we used them to bring our UK money over when we moved here. Much better rate than the banks and only a small flat rate comission.
