Finally decided to buy a place (first home buyer) after considering all our options.
We came across a fibro property and decided to make an offer and the vendor finally accepted at $325k conditional offer.
Since it all happened on the weekend and we liked what we saw, we still have yet to do a pest and building report. The condition of the house seems very neat and tidy with no damages on the walls, roof, frames etc etc and the plumbing seems to be fine.
The only concern we have so far is that the land itself is sub divided and our parking spot is at the back which is a bit of a inconvenience for me. The house at the back is currently parking their car on the spot.
We are planning to re-fence the backyard to include the car spot with the intention to extend our backyard or even create a gate to our own parking spot.
Question is, would anyone know how much it would cost to get a surveyor to determine the exact line of where our land ends. Or would this simply be a matter of discussing with the other owner and come to an agreement that we will just extend our backyard fence to incorporate the parking spot. Anyone been in a similar situation ?
Also, we will be renovating the place to make it more modern. Any suggestions and recommendations ?
