Floating floor

Has anyone used Carpet Court for floating floor (engineered wood). I am looking at a product Universal - American Oak. Its not my original choice but it seems good value and has been around for a while, so I imagine it is reputable.

Originally I contacted CC for pricing on vinyl as an alternative to timber but I cannot tolerate the VOCs.

Looking for laminate or bamboo flooring at the moment for an IP. Been all over the place, including carpet call. Snake oil sales man who was very intense and was prepared to 'do us a deal'. By far the most expensive out of all the options we have looked at.

Even though its an IP, we aren't looking for the cheapest product around. We have ended up going with a swiss made laminate flooring (kronoswiss), installed, for $15psqm less than the discounted product price alone (they wanted $100psqm for product and installation).

In total we are paying $60psqm installed with the best grade dunlop acoustic underlay (top floor unit).

My suggestion, look around.

They are definitely high pressure, unlike other companies. That is interesting that they were not competitive.

I got my bamboo flooring from bunnings.
Been in the lounge room for over a year and its fine.

Put it in the dining and kitchen a few months ago so we will see how it goes.

Yep

I used these products, did it myself. Took the time to do it right with checking the level of the floor, scrap anything left over and did a nice cut and left gaps on the end for expansion.

Out of about 30 boxes I had to take two back and swap due to them having very different finishing colours. Make sure you use 2-3 boxes at a time to blend in the slightly different colour and design.

Already had jarrah skirting board that I ripped up, cleaned and reinstalled.

Do you mean that the same laminates from the same range vary in colour?
I thought they were all machine printed and identical.
Unless you used real wood planks (or a wood veneer, so to speak).
You mean you mixed up the planks from 2-3 boxes at a time to blend in the colours?

Thanks. I have researched this product before and it sounded good value. Good idea mixing boxes. Its thinner than the boards you get from the flooring companies but I in a way that might help me with matching levels.

Yep they vary. They are bamboo so don't have identical patterns.

I would probably try engineered wood flooring next but I don't going to places with sales type people. If you install it yourself read the instructions carefully about moisture levels, how long to leave it before installing it etc.

Do they have all the product installed on the floor you can walk around on, that is something I would want to see. Bunnings had open packaging so I played around with it a bit.
