Granny Flat Contribution Fee

Hi All,

We want to build a granny flat on a property in Pymble, Sydney. Does anyone know the contribution fee involved?

Also would we need to go via the council or can we go via a private certifier?

The Section 94 contribution fees are generally freely available on the relevant council's website.

If not, then a phone call to council be confirm for you.

Re the certifier. Our council gave us the option of having them certify, or going to a private certifier. The fee was a little higher going to them. Again, talk with them.

It's worth spending a little time with them before you start planning. They will be able to tell you what you can and can't do, and what the processes and costs are likely to be.

They don't have anything on their website (or anything that I could see).

Their duty planner also kept referring me to their website.

I will try again and speak to another person from the council. Im finding it very hard to get an answer from them which is why I want to pay a little extra and go through a private certifier.

Yeah, they do that to us too. Some of their websites are very difficult to negotiate your way around. Ask the Duty Planner for the link on their website, tell them you are technically incompetent - get them to spell it out for you. :) Works for me :p
