House sharing in NSW

Do you need council to let out spare room in the house yuu own and live in. I am not sure if I am being misled. I enquired with the coucil so that I am doing legally as I have nosy neighbour.

The Property Owners Association hower says no council approval required. Anyone know the correct legal position in nsw regarding sharing your house for rent.

Let's face it, even if you did, which you don't, how would anyone (including council) know? The person could be your relative, friend, partner or whatever.
