how to check the ownership of your IPs?

Hi guys

this might be a really really silly question, where to you go to find out the IP you have purchased is under your name?

having had a few IPs, never thought about the above question until a friend asked me about it. a chill down the spine, yes, how do I know I am the owner of my IPs?

(have bought all IPs through solicitor and mortgage broker)

How to check ownership

In NZ we get a copy of the Title after settlement along with the solicitor's bill. Usually 2-3 weeks later.

In Australia the transfer of title is registered by the mortgagee - the lender. This takes a while, weeks to months usually, so title searches are not provided at settlement.
