How to find out age of a unit?

Hi all,

I've only just started looking into property investment, and this forum is the most awesome place :)

As a start I am planning to get an cheap old unit that has reasonable rental yield , but I don't know how to find out the age of building (mainly so that I can factor in depreciation benefits) The contract seem to only show the date it was strata-ed. Where should I look?

HI there
sometimes when you look in the electricity meter box - there are dates when the building was connected to the electricity supply which can give you a good indication of the date of the building
thanks
