G'day everyone,
Just wanting to get your thoughts on how the introduction of 300-1000 migrants would affect Dalby (population 13,000 or so) in QLD.
I'm all for the proposed camp, but I'm not a resident of the town. We have a couple of IPs in the area and can see the potential of creating more jobs and providing more govt funded services to the town.
I can see the other side of the fence; how some residents may be a bit worried about this proposed centre, especially after reading a number of comments on another news website. People are usually a bit scared of change, no matter how big or small.

Dalby is also one of the areas earmarked for a number of LNG projects in the Surat Basin. Would this help to alleviate the worker shortages seen in other mining areas in the past?
