I've heard that it can be handy to utilise an accountant that has their own investment properties so that they have a thorough knowledge of all the deductions and processes involved in and relating to IPs. This sounds logical to me so the next step is to find one.
I am a PAYG govt employee and currently building an IP interstate (with a view to build a modest portfolio). I will be requiring the services of an accountant to help me with my tax variation request with a view to starting a professional relationship over the next few years so do I just look under 'accountant/tax agent' in yellow pages or is there another category that would provide me a list of companies that would be good to use. I currently live in Sydney so I guess that it is likely that there should be a lot of businesses that could help me out.
All advice appreciated, I know it is a very simple thing but I would prefer some company that 'specialise' in this kind of service, if they exist.
Many people talk about 'Chan and Naylor' but since I only have nearly-one property, would they be interested in such a small time client?
