Is anyone else addicted to CHOCOLATE?

I never drink alcohol or smoke, infact I have never even been drunk which people find very odd in today's society. But here is my one weakness CHOCKOLATE! I can keep eating it all day long and have it every day, it's like an addiction.

My husband calls me a chockolate vaacuum cleaner because a whole family block can be inhalled within a couple of minutes. :D

I was just putting together a game for my son's fifth birthday party tomorow one of those things that you fill up with goodies and the kids pull the strings to let them out and catch them. I must have gone through a whole pack of caramello koalas while filling it. Now I need to buy more because I have eaten what was meant to be for the game!

Anyone else have this addiction or is it just me????

.... errr, yes, but don't tell anyone .... i just ate four rows of hazelnut chocolate.

you know the worst part is when you sneak into the family block of chocolate just to "sample" a row or two - but then you have to destroy the evidence of your slip up by eating the remainder of the block and replacing it.

unfortunately, makes for a big butt - on me anyhow.

You guys would love the Lindt Chocolate Cafe at Darling Harbour here in Sydney.

Don't know if there is one in Adelaide or Newcastle.

Marty

Me too. I have a significant chocolate addiction. I can't remember the last day that passed where I didn't have some sort of chocolate.

DH and I just scoffed a couple of chocolate mousses he made earlier. And there is more in the fridge calling out to me... "I am coming darling!" :D

In Adelaide we have Haighs! Now that, is Chocolate. I used to think Lindt was the best, that was until I had some scorched almonds from Haighs; I dare anyone to stop at one!

Certain times of the month, I have chocolate cravings. Maybe it's actually good for women? I love Cadbury Snack and Cherry Ripe and Snickers. Really; I just like em all. :)

I am a well known choc addict. I started a thread some time back about Milka chocolate and a few were very supportive of my craving for it :D

We I went OS to US recently and at the duty free shop in Brisbane I bought their whole stock of Milka Chocolate (about $450 dollars worth) and collected it on the way back home.

It is now in my freezer and I have a 100g block every single night. I just love it. I am going back to US early next year and before I do I will be phoning the duty free shop at the airport and getting them to stock up on it so I can buy it all again (as much as they have in stock) probably up to about $1,000 if they have enough stock.

I am not into buying clothes and I have no interest in jewellery, but I LOVE my Milka chocolate and I am not afraid to say it!!:D :D

I love chocolate too, but have forced myself to have it only every once in a while. If I didn't control myself, I'd happily eat some every day.

I'm a Snickers fan too. When in Hobart for a conference in May 07, I visited the Cadbury's chocolate factory. They give you "all you can eat" whilst on the tour. The smell of the chocolate is addictive, and you can buy chocolate from their shop for 1/2 price.

" Chocolate acts as an antiseptic, diuretic, parasiticide, and pilatory. It is used to treat burns, cough, listlessness, pregnancy, and snake bite. Cocoa has theobromine which has a similar effect to that of caffeine. It stimulates the muscles, heart, and kidneys. In fact, it can relieve congestion during colds by simply opening the bronchial passages in the lungs. "

Love chocolate?......Oh yearrrhhh.

Addicted?.....Hmmmm, got better at self control; actually can buy it and share and not scoff the lot. I don't eat it every day...

Very much enjoy the European chocolates, Swiss, Belgian, German, French, Austrian, Dutch...will eat almost anything though, and it extends to mud cake, hot chocolate milk drinks etc

There is a new chocolate bar out I've just noticed, called *Fling?* Flutter? something like that, I think its a spin from maltesers....damn nice, melts in your mouth..

All up and when I can...Lindt is my favorite. Hands down...Switzerland, beautiful country-beautiful chocolate.

What about one of the Mexican favourite dishes? Mole Poblano- chicken cooked with chocolate, chillies, pumpkin seeds, and a whole lot of other goodies.

(The chillies are larger milder varieties, so it's not too hot).

It's possible to buy a premix in specialist delis- but it is an acquired taste.

How about offering a footlong choc sub? :D

Cheers,

Some company started making chilli chocolate a while back..... now there's a way to satisfy 2 different cravings at the same time....sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Remember - chocolate is not meant to be shared.

I always wondered why women craved chockies : looks like they're just closet junkies ! :p

"Perhaps the most controversial findings come from researchers at the Neurosciences Institute in San Diego, California. They believe that "chocolate contains pharmacologically active substances that have the same effect on the brain as marijuana, and that these chemicals may be responsible for certain drug-induced psychoses associated with chocolate craving."
