Is tree removal a tax deduction ?

I have to get a tree removed , and have three others pruned back,this will have to be done with a cherry picker , a rather big job.
The trees are very old,but I have only had the property for 18 months [IP ]
Will this work be a tax deduction, can any body advise ?

Why does the tree require removal ? Did this situation exist 18 months ago ?

Likewise, are you pruning back excessive branches/leaves that were present when you acquired it.

It sounds a bit like capital initial repairs, at least the removal anyway.

Thanks Rob G for the advice,
tree to be removed is on fence line,where a new fence has to go up ,other trees are almost over power lines.Looks like capital expense.
