This is timely. Was wondering same thing. On side note, which is more durable for a rental (same area): carpet or laminate flooring?

HighlyGeared: I'm just doing it because my son seems to be allergic to carpets, so I'm removing it. BTW, it's in perfect condition, steam cleaned every 6 months as well, and no marks or anything (we don't go upstairs with shoes).
I don't know if people can "reuse" carpet, but if anyone is interested, PM me. Otherwise I'll just chuck it away.
