Melbourne - June MIG Meeting with Steve Navra

Hi Yman,

thanx for arranging the venue & the event... looking forward to it... :)

will see you there on the night...

Cheers,

Manny.

Hi Zeph,

there is also no need to RSVP, simply come along as the venue is large & should fit us all...

Cheers,

Manny.

I live in Sydney and went to the first talk by Steve Navra at the SIG but could not make it to the follow-up one. Later I paid to attend one of his one-day seminars. Since the MIG meeting is "free", I highly recommend forumites in Melbourne to attend this follow-up meeting as it represents good and useful education.

Thanks Y-Man!

Will probably see you there. Apologies in advance for making a late entrance... I will be the one that the cat drags in. ;)

Cheers,

Ali G

Thanks

Great evening - thanks for organising this once again - a great follow up on Steve's previous talk. Very interesting and the time just flew. I can't believe we get such a fantastic evening free!!!!

Also great to catch up with the others from the forum

Hi,

Both Peter and myself enjoyed Steves talk immensely.

Steve is truly inspirational, and so much of what he talks about makes sense.

We have always messed up with shares and only ever lost.

15years ago we signed up for some sort of a regular contribution plan. I think
it was a 10 year life insurance policy. After 5 years we cashed out at a loss.
We were uneducated and panicked when we saw our capital going down.

Bought telstra 1, made a profit, bought tls 2, and lost big time.

Bought tech stocks in the tech boom and lost there as well.

Received free national shares through work and made some money there.

In 2000 saw a financial planner and invested money there. After 15 months
took the money out to start our property investment journey.
On exit lost $1000 of our capital.

So all in all we have never had any luck in shares.

Steves fund definitely impressed us and will be investing as soon as we
have our meeting with him.

Thanks to Y-Man for organising this and will see you again at another meeting.

Kind regards
Marina.

Sigh.... my gorgeous girl has chicken pox, so I admit it - after 2 nights of her sleeping in my bed (well, sort of sleeping!) I was totally exhausted last night and collapsed into bed obscenely early. Bummer, I was looking forward to seeing Steve again.

Would anyone care to post thoughts, report for last evening's activities :)

Thanks

Many thanks to all who attended, and of course a special thanks to Steve Navra and Rolf (who unfortunately could not attend!)

Steve went through in more detail his system of share selection based on fundamentals, and the thinking behind his algorithm of trading the dips and peaks.

He also announced the imminent release of his US Share fund (at the aforementioned cocktail party), which should be quite interesting.

Cheers,

The Y-man
