Got a blocked drain on Fri morning- notified approx 9.30am.
Rang Urban Utilities (privatized arm formerly of the Council-Bligh split them off and they operate to repair infastucture here in Brisbane).
Cause there was sewerage I wanted it done that day (triple rates on the weekend I think). They were out within the hour and because the blockage was probably on Council property I wasn't charged. Normal rates are $220 hr and $31 per quarter hour thereafter. Arrived within an hour and fixed an hour later.
I haven't used private plumbers for this sort of job for years. These guys are a fixed rate and generally give you a 4 hour window when they will show (and they've never missed yet).
