My partner is from NZ, FHOG

Hello,

This is my first post, I'm looking at getting my first property and hoping I can get the first home owners grant. The thing is my partner (we are De Facto) is from New Zealand and has been living here for about 2 years. We were hoping to purchase the property together under both names but I'm unsure if her been from NZ would make the grant unavailable to us.

No we hand the Grant to anyone these days lol (only kidding).

Being from NZ certainly doesnt disqualify you from benefitting from the new Grant.

Looking to buy sometime early next year, so we are just trying to get a feel for the market etc as it is all new to us at the moment. Will be around the Geelong Region in Vic though.
