My partner purchasing half of my current property

Hi,

Currently I own 50% of an investment property with a business partner. I am wanting to buy this business partner out, and as I already own 50% of the property, have decided to have my Girlfriend purchase my business partners 50% (this structure has been proposed by my mortgage broker as the best way to secure finance). So basically I am remaining on the title, and my business partner is been substituted onto the tile by my Girlfriend.

I understand that i am liable (or my GF is) for 50% Stamp duty on the sale, however have been quoted full Conveyancing costs to draft the Contract of Sale (Requiring all gov. searches to be performed!). I thought it wouldn't all be this difficult and would really be a simple process. This property is located in Tasmania.

Would it be difficult/possible to do the conveyancing of this property myself? Ie. Just draft the contract of sale myself? Is there anything else that is involved? Have i been given correct advice???
