i think you're right re the internal politics.

seems that the ailing boss is determined to have his son take over, but there appears to be some non-acceptance of such. son has recently been promoted to general, despite not earning his way up.

there must be some serious discord and the boss is provoking an "attack" on nk possibly to fluster a decision into being made.

i feel sorry for the civilians. easy to say "they should rise up" but after 50+ years of being beaten, downtrodden and brainwashed - not easy at all.
 
White Phosphorous is used to mark targets or obscure vision on the battlefield as it provides a lot of white smoke. Using it against personnel is not legal and it is deemed a chemical weapon.

that didn't stop Israel 'marking' cars in a crowded market place....:rolleyes::mad:
