Old school 90's DOS Games

I was telling my son about Wolfenstein 3D, anyhow as self proclaimed computer nerd, he went out and found it recently on the web and then played the game

A fun game I had on the old Playstation was Maximo: Ghosts to Glory

Old school?

Hell, I found one of these in a drawer the other day.... put batteries in... woo hoo!

I recently purchased the Thief game series, thinking how awesome it would be to play the older ones. That was until I actually ran Thief Gold (circa 1998) on my flat screen TV and saw how really, really bad the graphics @ 800 x 600 look compared to more recent games. I ended up passing on this one and the next to play from Thief Deadly Shadows onwards, and only then because I found a bootleg patch that upped the resolution to something respectable by modern standards. By all means take a trip down memory lane, but don't be surprised if you don't stay there long.

Wolf 3D was the first FPS I played. We used to secretly play it at school during computer class. The teacher was tech clueless so she would sit back with a book and let us muck around on the newfangled machines. (Eventually Wolf 3D became porn, but that's another story!)

HomePage - Try Thief 2 (The Metal Age). The graphics are a little better than the first game, but IMO the gameplay is much better than Deadly Shadows. Also lots more custom missions to download (hundreds!). I never like Deadly Shadows' handling - it seems designed more for consoles than PCs.

Kesse, who wudda thunk it that you were a nerd?

I will have to brush the dust off my commodore vic 20 or the old TRS80 with twin floppies - one for MSDos the other for asteroids.

Sounds like some of you guys would like our office/warehouse.

We've got 12 arcade and pinball machines including NBA jam, Simpsons arcade game, space invaders, mortal kombat etc and Sega mega drive, super nes etc. Good fun!
