Lakers vs Celtics and NBA Playoffs: The best original basketball game there with all the stars like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kareem Adbul Jabber (esp his skyhook!)

Mortal Kombat: Finish Him! enough said.

There's heaps of space 4x games these days, although I don't know much of them except Masters of Orion (2 and 3 are both good, although fairly annoying to play due to the micromanagement).

Never heard of the term 4x games (shame on me) so looked it up. Found a very nice list of top 4x games with Master of Orion II at the top spot

DOOM! Do you remember the cheat code that will get you to invincible mode (eyes go yellow/egg yolk like ultraman...)?

I cannot confirm or deny if I remember and/or used the alleged cheat code

But yeah, how awesome was it?

Speaking of which, someone ported the original Doom to the Doom 3 engine. I played it for about 2 minutes and thought "oh man, this is awesome" until it wasn't. It just was not the same.

I have really gone down the rabbit hole this time! I have been watching the opening scenes to Dune II, Dune 2000 and Red Alert on youtube, listening to the soundtrack to Mysterious Cities of Gold and playing the original Command and Conquer until 3 in the morning.
