Queensland lawyer recommendation please

Hi there,

I am buying a first-hand property from the developer directly in Brisbane. I'd like to have a lawyer represent me in dealing with the contract, it should be a fairly straight-forward process. Do I need a surveyor or valuation? I am paying all in cash. Is there any pitfall I should be watching out for?

Does anyone have a good lawyer to recommend? How much does it cost roughly? Thanks a bunch!

Get a lawyer. Get the building and inspection reports. Being a "new" property does NOT mean it's immune from problems- eg, not constructed to regulations.

If it's off the plan- a special careful. There's problems there.

Hi Geoff,

I saw your mentioning of Tunns Lawyers in one of the previous posts, are you satisfied with their service? Thanks.

I used Tunns for one conveyance matter. They were fine.

But I guess just about any lawyer would be good for something straightforward.

This is an opinion only, and should not be taken as an endorsement nor should it be taken as a sign of any disapproval. Seek professional advice. If pain persists see your doctor.

My fee for this transaction is $440.
