rent history

Hi,

Newbie question, what resources are available to check rent % increase history? I checked SQM, it does not have it on a tabular form, need to check one suburb at at time. How does CPI relate to rent increases?

Thanks.

Cheers.

How does CPI relate to rent increases?

It doesn't. Residential rents are adjusted to market not to cpi (property managers couldn't get their minds around that concept) but seriously the way that the tenancy act is written, cpi is too cumbersome to implement due to the time lag between cpi being published and rent reviews becoming effective ie 60 days.

Rents drive cpi figures anyway, not the other way around (unless it is commercial we are talking about, and we aren't). I think Excel would call it a "circular reference" ;)
