Researching new sub-divisons

Hi everyone,

A question for those that buy or have bought blocks of land in new subdivisions - what's the best way to research what's coming to the market?

In particular, I want to learn/hear about/stay up-to-date with land releases in regional WA. Obviously this is more a niche market but I'm hoping general research principals (employed by investors across OZ) can be used.

Thanks!

You can look on realestate.com under the land tab, or the websites of the land developers ie: Peet, Mirvac etc.

They are always updating their sites with new information.

Another way would be to network with investors (like you have done here on SS) or call real estate agents and ask them if they know of any new land releases in their area.

Hope this helps

Thanks Regrow,

Definately does and also reaffirms tactics I'm employing at present.

I think the next step will be getting in touch with a couple of 'local' agents in the areas I'm targeting.

good question....no set answers.
i find things are long gone by time we mere punters get around to them, and have often wondered who/how you get in the door.
have no doubt, particularly in perth over last few years, its the same charmed people that get a crack at things.
i personally think there's a little niche available here for anyone who could be bothered - an agent specialising in such things, making their clients aware in advance and signing them up otp and such things.
as it stands, i think itd be down to the developers and who are on their lists, who can show the cash and talk the talk so to speak.
i find it annoying...sure i could do all that cra.p but i dont have the time and cant be bothered, i just wanted an even chance at some great developments that were going ahead. perhaps ive only myself to blame for not doing the research, but its by no means a level playing field.
