Am just compiling a list of websites and resources to use when researching properties. This is my list so far, and, am hoping that people will add to it or, submit their own list.

Median Price:
RPData and Residex ( free suburb report ) to get an idea of the median price.

Historical Capital Growth:
RPData

Rental Vacancy Rate:
SQM

ABS - Bureau of Statistics:
Unemployment Rate
Average Wage and Salary Income

Ammenities/Trains/Bus/Shopping Complex/Hospital:
Whereis
Google maps

Add www.nearmap.com to your list of useful aerial maps - see more changes over time and higher resolution than google, as the images are taken from a plane not a satellite.

Food for thought.

Is there any reason the Valuer General isnt mentioned, Ive always found their reports match my own perceptions, which is usually a contrast to those reports that use selective information reported by agents. I know people poo poo their reports but I think they just dont want to accept reality, and goes against what alot of spruickers and those with vested intrest claim. It undermines the Industry s Ponzi scheme.
