Sad, amusing, but with a grain of truth....

Area man finally lands dream salary
LOS ANGELES—Since he was a boy, Michael Dvorak dreamed of one day earning $56,000 a year. Earlier this month, the law firm White & Case finally made that longtime dream come true, hiring Dvorak at just that salary.
"I am definitely one of the lucky few who wakes up every morning and gets to do something he loves: make $56,000 a year," Dvorak, 27, said Monday. " I can’t imagine making another amount of money, quite frankly."

"Hell, I’d make $56,000 for free," Dvorak added.

very sad - how self-limiting. but then again if he is happy at such a figure, then who are we to judge.

i have said i'm aiming for $10k a week disposable - but i can see that when i get there, i'll just keep going, so i don't see that goal of mine limiting.

i'm just re-reading "prophecy" by rk ... all about the expectations of super to fund retirement - now that is really really sad.

Dvorak reminds me of Gump who had the magical talent of appreciating
what he had, amongst a number of other admirable talents, and that's all I have to say 'bout thayet.
cheers
