Searching for a conveyancer/solicitor in Sydney.

Hi,

I’m in search for a conveyancer/solicitor in the Sydney area, is there anyone that could recommend a good solicitor?

I would prefer a solicitor as an accredited property law specialists & a property investor them self, and offcourse honest & reasonable fee’s. Or am I asking for to much?

If anyone has any contact details on a solicitor they have used & are 99% satisfied with their service, please pass on any details.

Cheers
George:)

Hi Bill,

Hi George,

On the southern side I've used Koutzoumis Lawyers @ Bevery Hills Ph:95850040
Remember that solicitors are more expensive than conveyancers and prices vary.
I suggest you get a couple of quotes (There should be some advertised in your local paper) and if he is more expensive send me a PM and I will try to help.
I know one of this guy's friends so last time I bought an IP at Riverwood
I've used this knowledge to my advantage and got a nice discount :D

Cheers

Hi Bill , can you suggest me some good solicitors/conveyancers (&reasonable priced) in the inner west (ashfield/croydon....), northwest (northryde/ryde, ...) or in the sydney cbd? This is for my first home purchase. Thanks.

Mate, city and reasonably priced don't go together. :)
In Ashfield you can try MAURIC & DOYLE solicitors from the conveyancing centre 97994222. It doesn't matter much who you get as long as he is close
so you don't have to travel across the city to sign the papers.
Some solicitors will also stay back late (by appointment) so that you can see them after work.
Cheers

Thanks for the details Bill:), I will give them a call & let you know how it all works out.

Also, would there be a firm that would have the whole team, such as a Solicitor; Broker; Accountant etc; working in a team. I just think that it will resolve a lot of communication matters between them, should be an easier process to complete.

George, You will find that this firm is in the same building with some accountants.
I was introduced to this solicitor through my accountant who is in the same building
and on some issues they are working together.

I don't know about brokers though.
I am sure they'll have some connections but I don't know how good they are.
Look, I am skeptical of using firms that try to do everything.

What's the old saying? " jack of all trades=master of none?"
The accountant is good though and well priced.
If you want a broker there are some good ones here.

Cheers

trying to decide whether to go with a conveyancer for my next IP purchase. they look like they're $1000 cheaper than my current solicitor (~$2400 each time). What do people think about conveyancers? I'm aware that they'll be less experienced when something "legal" comes up... but most of my transactions have been straightforward anyway.

I've always used a conveyancer, but my purchases have been pretty straightforward - of course, a dud conveyancer/solicitor can stuff up a straightforward purchase.

Twice recently I have used one at Blakehurst - Mimi Kappos at Property Conveyancing Specialists - 9594 1996. If you tell her Scott sent you, she'll do the right thing.

I've steered a few clients her way and one told me that Mimi managed to get a $10,000 price reduction on a purchase between exchange and settlement - I forget the whole story. She's a pretty tough Greek lady and I would rather have her on my side than against me in a transaction.

thanks, depreciator! What a story re: the 10k reduction. Wish you knew the whole story :)

My soli has always been OK but nothing flash. I just checked, his fees in recent times have been $2500. Reasonable I suppose, but not for the quality of his service...

$2500 sounds a lot.
I paid $1200 about 6 months ago but without pest and building inspection.
Prices vary a lot though, I remember paying nearly $2K on my PPOR 13 years ago

Might be a bit out of the area but I've used Michael Siderowitz & Co from Blacktown and he's always been very thorough. From memory he charged me about $1500 last october to sell a place.

Skye Clark at Freshwater Legal... 9939 9996. I am pretty sure this number for her still works, but i think she was potentially changing it.

Have recommended her to serveral clients and ALL of them have come back to thank me because she was so fantastic. I also got advise from her for some minor contract law things personally and she has been really great.

If you had used Michael Story a few blocks away on Flushcombe Rd
you would have paid around $1100
