Second Hand Garage Roller Doors?

Just wondering if anyone has used Second hand garage roller doors in a reno?

I've had a quote for $792 for a B&D roller door, single carport, installed. But the local salvage yard has a couple of doors that will fit ranging in price from $120 to $250 the dearer ones have the brackets and tracks and are in pretty good condition.

Just wondering how long it will take to install one, it would need a piece of timber down the side of the house to fit the track onto, it would need some timber on the front to hide the top of the door as it will sit down from the ceiling. I'm thinking this will take me a couple of days as I haven't done it before. Therefore the brand new might be cheaper.

How easy is it to fit a garage door?

I have fitted one many years ago and as I remember it was no biggie;).

The only problem I had (as I remember is) re tensioning the spring mechanisms. Apart from the spring all it is as you say is fitting the wood sides and top and then fitting the 2 top brackets, popping the door on these brackets and then fitting the side rails to suit the travel of the door.

Cheers
