spider coming to the property

My property manager sent my an email saying spider coming to the property and ask me for instruction.

What do I do? How do you manage tenants as well as property manager's expectation in this sorts of case?

suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Unless you have an infestation of spiders, a tenant complaining that there are some spiders in the house, well of course there are, there are thousands of spiders on every suburban block.

As for the spider coming to the house, was it selling foxtel or trying to get you to switch energy providers?

Can you tell the agent that the windows have two positions - open and closed. Put the windows into the closed position and the spiders won't get in. ;)

we have alot of spiders around our house, particularly when its wet/hot like it is at present. we get some red backs and whitetails..no funnel webs. but its really not safe if you have kids around, and its frustrating to being constantly walking into the webs of the non-dangerous spiders.
If there are lots of spiders, I would get a pest treatment done.. they usually get cockroaches, webbing spiders, ants etc. you can often get it done at a discount if you get a pest inspection done as well.

Damn, I always thought it was off, working or Blue Screen....

The Y-man

in that order?

even though i consider myself a semi advanded user
my windows 7 computer is either off, or on and blue screen, reboot, blue screen, reboot, working
and sometimes no problems at all
im pretty sure its a graphics driver since that was updated around the time this has been happening but i havent had the time to fix it
it still works just takes me a few more mins to turn it on lol

I think listing spider on the lease is a good one:p.

i used to live in that tenanted property. We had regular spiders visiting from time to time as any other standing alone houses which are close to ground level. Those visitors were neither excessive nor big in size.

My PM had over 20 years of PM experience and I could not think a reason she can't deal with thise type of situation.

Thanks for all the reply. I enjoyed all your humor.

I always tell my tenants to use an at home internal and external treatment first (available from supermarkets or home stores) If there continues to be a huge problem with spiders THEN I approach the landlord but not before. It's coming to that time of year where the spiders will start to head indoors due to the heat and rain. Nothing you can do about it, it is happening every where! Sounds like it is the time of year for replace PM and tenants!!! :)

Or, put it on the lease (probably my favourite above suggestion) but I must know what his name is.....?

I have a near constant running argument with my wife where I want leave the orb weavers around the home alone. Even get the kids to feed them crickets / moths and for the real big ones the web can even handle large insects.

I cannot bring myself to spray orb weavers.

The other spider I like are daddy long legs spiders. They seem to keep the likes of red backs at bay anyway so if I see many of them somewhere I know it is less likely I will come across a red back in the same woodpile / outdoor furniture etc.

My wife did not believe me that a daddy long legs could kill a red back untill one night at dinner the daughter said there were two spiders fighting and sure enough a daddy long legs was in the process of showing a red back whats for. He was chasing it and biting it repeatedly. Never seen a red back moving so fast!

I did not get a chance to leave it to conclusion because the missus *made* me squash the red back but it was pretty clear who was going to win that bout.

To tie this into the question of the OP, why don't you give your tennants some daddy long legs to release around the home. That should bring things back into balance! ;)

I also love to watch spiders. Being from Nova Scotia none of our spiders or snakes are dangerous.
The other day I was walking along and noticed a slim little snake. Thinking to myself..oh, he's about the size of a garter snake. Rob was watching me, and noticed the inland taipan that caught my attention. He stomped his foot, and off it slithered.
Last year in Queensland, while housesitting, there was this big blob in the corner wall by the ceiling. I asked Rob what it was..he then spread its legs. It was the largest spider I had ever seen.It was almost the size of a dinner plate. He was escorted outside.

Tenants of ours complained about spiders too.We told them to get a can of spray, if they are concerned. They live in Canada, and we have bugs.

I just do a surface spray.

I do it at both my properties (leave a new can for tenants) and for my own rental as well.
