Stair replacement - ball park figure?

Hi everyone

I am chasing a ball park figure to replace the front stairs on an old miners cottage. The handrails, stringers and 11 stairs need to be replaced.

The stairs are currently all wooden materials, but I am tossing up investing in steel stringers but wooden handrails and stairs to keep with the 'look' of the property.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

I recently had this done on an old workers cottage. Cost was about $2500 from a builder. Probably about the same size you are talking about. Steel stringers, wood for everything else.

Did need painting afterwards though.

The companies which do house raising and/or restumping often have builders who can replace stairs. (for obvious reasons).

UDM does look good, if you want to do the work yourself. Bought some replacement windows from them.
