Substation

Hello All

Just wondering if anyone could suggest a property lawyer in Melbourne.

In short we have a small substation that is position at the back of our flats on the tenants land. It powers the block of flats as well as if there is a shortage it kicks in for other areas. We would like to know our rights as to does it still need to be there i.e can it be scaled down with todays technology?

Any advice would be great on whom we can contact regarding our rights?

Cheers

A power sub station isn't like a telephone exchange - unfortunately technology won't make it smaller..... and as demand increases, they can become bigger!

I have been granted approval for only two sub stations in NSW and in each instance what we had to address before attaining approval was:

- where is the sub station to move to?

- has written owner approval been granted

- are you prepared to pay for the full suppliers costs of moving

Let me tell you, these approvals where sought for substantial commercial sites and moved to an another suitable location on property we controlled.

It is extremely expensive and time consuming and I would not be recommending it for a small strata.
